I am Dr Rohan S. Navelkar, a second-generation ENT & Head–Neck Surgeon practising in Ghatkopar East and Mahim West, Mumbai. I head Lotus ENT Hospital, our family’s ENT centre in Ghatkopar, founded in 2003 and trusted by thousands of patients over the last two decades.

I belong to a family deeply rooted in ENT care — my father is a senior ENT surgeon, my wife is an ENT surgeon, and I have grown up around clinical excellence, ethics and dedication to patients. This background shapes my approach: quiet, focused, introverted by nature, and completely committed to providing accurate, honest and compassionate ENT care.

My treatment philosophy is simple:
avoid surgery whenever it is not necessary, choose the safest and most effective path, and explain everything in clear, practical language so patients feel empowered — not pressured. When surgery is needed, I use minimally invasive high tech methods to operate with the latest instrumentation.

I invest heavily in keeping my practice current. I am highly tech-savvy and ensure my clinics are equipped with the latest ENT diagnostic technology — endoscopic systems, microscopy, imaging tools and precision instruments that help me reach quick, accurate diagnoses.

Most of my patients improve with a single consultation. I do not believe in calling people for unnecessary or frequent follow-ups. When follow-up is required, it is because it genuinely adds medical value, not because of habit or protocol.

What patients appreciate most is my honesty, gentle communication style, and the clarity with which I explain their condition. Whether it is sinusitis, allergy, vertigo, tonsils, ear infections, throat issues or paediatric ENT problems, every evaluation is thorough and centred around what will truly help the patient — not what is convenient or routine.

Beyond clinical practice, I enjoy creating solutions for patients in my own way — I develop medical Android apps as a hobby (Entina Technologies), designed to help patients understand their conditions, track symptoms, and access guidance more easily. I have also authored a comprehensive online ENT textbook — ENT Notes — which is widely used by students and practitioners seeking clear, practical otolaryngology guidance. 

I consider it a privilege to continue the legacy of ENT care in my family, and I give every patient the same focused, detail-oriented attention I would expect for my own loved ones.
